On March 26, 2012, the Court of Common Council empanelled a Charter Revision Commission pursuant to the City charter's decennial mandate for review (Chapter XII Sec. 4). In accordance with Section 7-188 of the Connecticut General Statutes, eleven Hartford electors were appointed by the Mayor and Council. They began their work in Spring 2012 and concluded in March 2013.
